Schools and Youth Group Visits

Schools and official groups of young people are welcome to contact the Museum to arrange visits to suit their interests. It is usually most effective when teachers and group leaders come for a preliminary discussion with Museum education staff who will be delighted to help in this way. Visits can be suited to specific Key Stage requirements.

A young people's visit needs good planning. We're very close to the coach drop off point, a great plus for visits from out of the area, and, in summer, there's an ice cream kiosk just opposite us, by the Boat Float (that small inner harbour). Please eat ice creams before or after but not during your visit, and remember there are no toilets on site! We're near the public toilet, just opposite the coach drop off point, so that's never a problem. Do be aware that we have limited accessibility for the less able bodied. Please talk special access needs through with us before you come.

The Henley Trail is up and running. We tested it with Dartmouth Academy in early July 2011. It's a great self guided walk following the life and work or William Henley. Dull is one thing our William was not!

To arrange your visit please email the Museum at dartmouth@devonmuseums.net.
